WHERE FROM HERE?

Right now, many Christians and even some leaders are asking "where do we go from here?" Some are asking from the standpoint of concern others from confusion. Now, some ask, why would this even be happening? First, let’s identify what’s going on. There’s been a lot of things taking place in our world. A world lockdown. Nations regressing in their economy and many feeling an overwhelming sense of fear. All of this points to a season of shaking. The whole world is in a season of shaking. Some people ask if this is the last days? Well, we’ve been in the last days when Jesus arose from the grave and sat down at the right hand of Majesty on High. So, let’s live each day like it’s our last. Fair enough?

So how do Christians handle the shakings of God? The first thing is, we need to realize what manner of creature we are. We are a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

All things have become new. You’re a new creation. Do you know what you are created in? Truth, holiness, righteousness, ultimately, you’re a new creation in Christ. You were created in truth. Now, this should make you very excited. Why you ask? Because the truth you were created in is eternal. You are a new creation in the truth of Christ Jesus. Meaning, you’re life is now hidden in Him (Colossians 3:3).

Now you may ask what are you getting at Deane? I’m trying to tell you that if you are a new believer you are founded in Christ and you are a new creation. A creation of truth. The shakings we are having taking place in our world is to shake off those lies that are not of God. God doesn’t want anything that’s not of Him, that’s not of truth. Why? Well John 8 says it best.

John 8:32

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Anything that you and I have built our lives on or come to trust more than Jesus Christ and His eternal truth will fail you! What are we seeing in the shaking? Things we thought would stand are not standing or withstanding the unshakable truth of Christ and His word and love for us is what we can truly stand in.

So now, embrace the shakings of God. It’s to work in you and I an eternal hope that cannot be shaken. An eternal hope of salvation that sets us in truth and allows us to walk in freedom.

John 8:36

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

We are free from the spirit of fear. What the enemy meant for harm God will turn it around to His eternal good. So, rejoice! He loves you and wants you walking free of fear of the fear of the future of what may come.

The truth of His love for us sets us free from the torment of fear.

1 John 4:15-19

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

In closing, knowing who you were created to be is the truth that all disciples need in this time. To stand in those shakings means truly abide in His truth.

Pray this prayer:

Father, I come before You today, asking You to reveal Your truth to me. As I search through the word of God, may the revelation of Your eternal truth begin to be ignited in me! May I come to know the truth and the truth set me free! May all the things that are not of You fall to the ground is dust and may I be found abiding in You.

In Jesus name, amen.
